GIST is based in its own buildings which is incorporated into the Aldis site in Hradec Králové in the centre zone under the terms of the current development plan for Aldis. The building stands alone between two squares, while the north façade abuts to the main road, pedestrian and bicycle traffic (Collinova street) with public parking areas.
This is a five storey building without a cellar composed of two blocks connected via an open steel staircase, a panoramic lift and glass walls. The roof is flat, with roof gardens. The walls are claid in Božanovský sandstone offset by copper plating. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, commercial space, support buildings and facilities for restaurant. On the second floor there is a restaurant, bowling alley and offices. There are offices on the third, fourth and the fifth floor. The building has approximately volume of 10 000 m3. There are underground parking places for 22 vehicles.
The architects were Bohumír Prokop and Jindřich Janíček. The company Skanska was the general contractor. The building was completed in 2002.
The interior of our building won a prestigious award – Grand Prix 2003, awarded by „Obec Achitektů“ in the category of architectural design and small architecture (diploma).
We let a part of the building for commercial purposes. There is a restaurant BB69, a bank subsidiary HSBC, a showroom of the company S T A V B Y spol. s r. o. - Sapeli door sale and installation, ETOS SOFT CZ, s.r.o. - software for food industry, - an accounting office Účetní kancelář Stránský, - a contact place of Hradec Králové Golf Club.
The Aldis Congress Centre is located to the west of our building. TheT-Mobile Call Centre building is in the north and the building of the Land Registry Office for Královéhradecký region is to the east.
The outer city ring road circuit passes at a distance of 130 metres from the building. The street where we are based is named after the 19th century major of Hradec Králové Karel Collino.
